PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN NEPAL FOR 2077 BS (2020-2021 AD)

Government of Nepal The Ministry of Home Affairs has made the list of Public holidays in Nepal for 2077 Nepali calendar 2077BS (2020-2021 AD). This year 2077 BS will have delayed Dashain and Tihar holidays due to the occurrence of “Malamas”. Malamas is an extra month which occurs once on every 3-4 yeara. This year also the government reduces public holidays as compared to past years including public holidays proposed for particular religion and community. The government offices would open more days in the year 2077 compared to the past years. However, the government has also decided to grant holidays to specific groups of people during festivals unique to their cultures. For Dashain Festivals, there are five days of public holidays from Kartik 7 – 11 (October 23 to 27) starting with Phulpati till Ekadashi, with the Tika day Vijaya Dashami on Kartik 10 ( October 26).
