“One of the top-selling bikes for Yamaha in Nepal finally releases its BS6 variants in Nepal, More Below”
The authorized distributor for the Yamaha Motorcycles in Nepal, MAW Enterprises recently launched the all-new Yamaha R15 v3 BS6 variant.
It is one of the latest R15 variants that people had been anticipating a BS6 variant for.
Similar to the Yamaha FZs v3 BS6 and Yamaha MT15 BS6, there have not been many or any changes made to the visual of the R15 v3 BS6. Moreover, there have been various improvements made to the engine in order to meet the BS6 emission norms.
“For the pricing of Yamaha R15 v3 BS6, the price in Nepal is Rs. 5.14 Lakhs. There is a price increase when compared to the previous R15 v3 BS4 (priced at Rs. 4.96 Lakhs).”
Since the BS6 variants are being introduced to the public, Yamaha Nepal will now no longer be offering the older BS4 variants of the bikes. This is also mainly due to the fact that all the fuel vehicles are now going to have to abide by the law to have BS6 engines.
With all these said, let us dive into the specifications of the BS6 variants for the new R15 V3 as well as see what changes have been made.
The R15 v3 is bound to have a strong presence on the road. As the bike still sports the Racing “R Series” DNA that the R15 series have been sporting. This alone makes the sporty, sharp, and aggressive look give the bike a strong presence on the road wherever it goes.
Similar to its elder sibling, the R1, R15 also comes with a Twin-Eye LED Head Lamp and an Edgy LED Tail Lamp. Unfortunately, R15 still has the halogen bulbs for its side indicators.
The bike has a fully aerodynamic design. Additionally, the bike sports the Deltabox Frame which allows the bike to have superb rigidity balance. As the bike has always been sporting an aerodynamic design, the bike is going to have good timing for going from 0 to a certain speed.
The Deltabox frame has been one of the hallmarks for R15 since the time it was released to the general public.
Moreover, the bike also includes an Aluminium Swingarm with a Linked-type Monocross Suspension. Additionally, it also gets the same all-digital LCD instrument meter with a shift light and VVA indicators. Furthermore, the R15 V3 BS6 variant also has two additional colors: Red and Blue.
Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 is powered by a 155cc, Single Cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, Liquid Cooled FI engine. It is capable of generating a max power of 18.6 PS at 10000 rpm and a max torque of 14.1 Nm at 8500 rpm.
Additionally, It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assisted slipper clutch.
” Moreover, the powertrain figures for the bike have slightly decreased. Comparing the BS4 and BS6 engines, the BS6 engine generates 0.7 PS less power and 0.6 Nm less torque.”
Other than a few number tweaks here and there, the overall experience for the R15 V3 should be similar.
There are quite a few interesting differences between the BS6 variant and the BS4 variant.
Firstly, the BS6 variant of the R15 V3 sports a Dual Horn, Rear Radial Tyre, and an in-built Side stand Engine cut-off switch. This means that there is added safety with the fact that in case of any emergency or any problems within the braking system, using the side stand will guarantee a cut-off of the ignition of the bike.
With that said, here is a small rundown of the features of the new R15 V3 BS6:
The pricing for the BS6 variant of the R15 V3 is higher than its BS4 variants which is Rs. 5,14,900. The increase in price is not only attributed to the bike being a BS6 variant, but also due to the fact that the tax prices for petroleum vehicles have increased significantly in Nepal.
Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 is already available across every Yamaha Showroom. As the bike has finally crossed the Rs 5 lakhs price range, R15 V3 BS6 has finally become the most premium 150 cc bike in Nepal.
People interested in buying the new R15 V3 BS6 can already book or purchase this very moment.
Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 variant has competitors such as Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha MT BS6. Yes, the new R15 is literally competing against one of its own siblings.
Considering, what the competitions bring to the table against the R15 V3 BS6, we can consider the bike to be quite the premium bike but nonetheless, the price seems to be justified as the bike has its own uniqueness.
Will the BS4 variant be discontinued for Nepal or will Yamaha still sell them in Nepal?
The BS4 variant has completely been discontinued from the production itself. This means, if you want to buy a BS4 variant it is better to buy till the stocks last, after that you can only buy second-hand BS4 variants for the bike.
Does the Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 feature the Bluetooth X-connect similar to the BS6 version of FZ?
No, it does not. The Yamaha R15 variant may never get the X-Connect, but chances are Yamaha might include it down the road for even the Racing series.
When will the R15 V4 BS6 be released in Nepal?
Chances are it will take at least 8-10 months still. Plus with the addition of Covid, we might only see the V4 variant in Nepal in late 2022 or early 2023
